|
Description Tricyrtis hirta 'Miyazaki' comes from Japan, this particular cultivar is named for the Miyazaki Agricultural Experiment Station at Miyazaki University in Japan. 'Miyazaki' is an improved cultivar that blooms more profusely, has a more arching growth habit, and is about 1' shorter than the native species. This Toad Lily will self seed but it is not as aggressive as the native species. In late summer to early fall orchid-like blooms appear. These quarter sized flowers are white to pale lilac with dark lavender speckles. The Speckled Toad Lily will do best in a well drained soil and once established it should not be moved, as it does not transplant well. Hardiness: USDA Zones
