Spiraea x bumalda 'Anthony Waterer' - Anthony Waterer Spirea

Description

Spiraea x bumalda is a hybrid between selections of S. japonica. Spireas are summer bloomers with a low shrubby growth habit. Anthony Waterer is a dwarf cultivar and can grow to a height of 3-4 feet with a 4-5 foot spread. The foliage is deciduous with a wine-red to maroon tinged new growth in the fall. The blooms are grown in flat clusters that are rose pink from late spring into the summer. The Anthony Waterer is used as a great border for shrubs.
