Description Spikemoss is a primitive plant and although it produces spores it is not a true fern. It is considered one of the fern allies this genus consists of 700 species. Spikemoss loves the same growing conditions as ferns, with ample moisture, high humidity and shade. They have scale-like leaves and most species are creeping plants that form dense carpets of soft mounds that love to sprawl between the rocks of waterfalls. Krauss' Gold Tip Spikemoss looks like tiny evergreens with dark green foliage and golden tips. Selaginella kraussiana 'Gold Tips' will reach 6" tall with a spreading habit and is great to use as a groundcover, around waterfalls, in containers and in terrariums. Hardiness: USDA Zones 6-10
