| Salvia greggii x karwinskii
|
Description Salvia greggii x karwinskii is a beautiful salvia hybrid that has been around a long time but is fairly new to the private garden sector. Karwinski's Sage has lovely bright, 2 lipped, magenta flowers in late fall and will continue to bloom throughout the winter if planted in a warm, protected site. Karwinski's Sage also has a larger leaf than most Salvia greggii and takes hot, humid summers without the usual fungus and defoliation problems sometimes seen on other greggii's. This is a large salvia reaching a height of 6-8' with a 4' spread if not kept pruned; prune back after flowering for rebloom and to maintain size. Hardiness: USDA Zones 9-10
