Plantanus mexicana - Mexicana Sycamore

Description

Mexican Sycamore is native to N.E. Mexico. Mexican Sycamore can be a large tree reaching 60 feet tall. The lobbed leaves are also large at up to 8 inches wide. Leaves are smooth green on the top and are cottony white to silvery below. The Mexican Sycamore is also noted for its attractive bark. Plantanus mexicana is well adapted to dry, rocky alkaline soils. This is a great choice for the Hill Country region of Texas due to its tolerance of alkaline soils.
