Description Named 1991 Perennial Plant of the Year and recognized by the Royal Horticultural Society with the “Award of Garden Merit”, Heuchera micrantha ‘Palace Purple is the best mahogany colored Heuchera on the market. With its mounding form and 3” leaves of dark red on top, red and white on bottom, it will brighten the front of any perennial border, especially when planted with variegated or light green plants. Not only is the foliage nice but you will get an added bonus in the summer with airy panicles of white tubular flowers held aloft long, wiry stems. Heuchera will grow in most soils with good drainage, however, good amounts of organic matter produces the nicest specimens. ‘Palace Purple’ can be grown in full sun but in hotter climates it will need some shade. It is evergreen in the winter and very attractive to hummingbirds. Can reach 12" tall with a 12-18" spread. Hardiness: USDA Zones
