Hedychium gardnerianum 'Kahili' - Kahili Ginger

Description

Hedychium Gingers are more cold hardy than most gingers, often called Hardy Ginger Lily. This group of ginger puts on a great show of flowers in the summer to early fall, most are very fragrant and smell similar to Lonicera spp. Hedychium gardnerianum has a butterfly-like, fragrant, yellow flower with red stamens and originates in the Himalayas. The Kahili Ginger's beautiful flower is offset by gray-green leaves and can reach 6-8' tall.
