Description Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora 'Lucifer' is a corm producing plant in the Iris family. So it is not surprising that the leaves are fan shaped but unlike most irises the leaves are pleated. 'Lucifer' is a cross between Crocosmia aurea and Crocosmia pottsii and originates from South Africa. Montbretia will grow to a height of 3-4' and should be spaced at 15-18". Lucifer will multiply and spread once it is established. The best part about this plant is the firey orange-red flowers which will bloom in mid-summer. The flowers are held on arching spikes in an upward fashion, making a great cut flower. Hardiness: USDA Zones
