Description A native to New Zealand, Carex flagellifera 'Toffee Twist' is an evergreen perennial grass that has a dense clumping growth habit. The foliage is a mahogany color with green and red hues, giving this grass a dried look when it is actually actively growing, another great grass, along with Leatherleaf Sedge, for fall arrangements! The form of Toffee Twist Sedge is upright to 18" before spilling over to the ground, the bloom is non-ornamental. This grass is non-invasive, low maintenance, and is attractive year round, winning top performer from Oklahoma State University in 2003. Great in the landscape as a specimen or massed, in rock gardens, near water gardens, and in container gardens. Works particularly well in fall themed mixed containers. Carex flagellifera 'Toffee Twist' can reach 12-18" tall with a 18-24" spread and should be spaced every 18-24". Does best in a moist well-drained soil. Hardiness: USDA Zones
